WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2025
Join us on March 26 at Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa as we honor Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana‘ole, the “People’s Prince.” This special event pays tribute to his enduring legacy, celebrating Hawaiian culture, history, and traditions on the very land where his royal home, Pualeilani, once stood.
Before Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa became a symbol of modern hospitality, it was home to Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalaniana‘ole. His beachfront estate, Pualeilani—meaning “flower from the wreath of heaven”—was a gathering place for Hawaiian culture and traditions.
Known as the “People’s Prince,” Kūhiō dedicated his life to preserving Native Hawaiian rights, playing a key role in passing the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act of 1921. After his passing in 1922, his land was gifted to Honolulu, ensuring his legacy lived on.
Today, Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa honors this history with Hawaiian-inspired design, cultural programming, and a deep connection to the island’s past. Walking the grounds, guests can imagine Waikiki’s royal past—where hula, outrigger canoe races, and aloha thrived.
